Audition Sign-Ups for the 2017-2018 Season

Who may audition?

Any young person who loves to sing and is entering 3rd-12th grade (Fall of 2017) may audition.

Audition Sign-Ups:
1. Audition appointments can be scheduled in May - Monday or Tuesday (6:00-8:00).  Contact Lori - [email protected] or text at 913.219.7213 to set up an appointment.

2. Complete these two forms prior to auditions. You can either email them to [email protected] or bring them to your audition.

      b. Singer/Parent Contract -  take a few minutes to read through the Allegro Contract. This will give you a good idea of the commitment level we require.

*All auditions are held at the Allegro Studio (228 Oak St, Bonner Springs). We are the bright blue building on the corner of 3rd and Oak - you can't miss it!
Audition Process:  The Allegro staff will place singers in the appropriate choir based on their audition.

Poco Allegro, Vivo Allegro, and Allegro con Moto Choirs (treble voices- all unchanged voices)

  1. The Audition process takes 10 minutes. Arrive 10 minutes before your assigned audition time to check in.
  2. Bring a parent to the audition to meet the staff and complete registration paperwork.
  3. Tuition -  Poco ($550), Vivo ($600), Moto ($750)

   *Brio is open to current Moto singers only. One year in Moto is required.

Allegro con Spirito (8th-12th grade young men with CHANGING or CHANGED voices)
  • The Audition process will take 10 minutes. Arrive 15 minutes before your assigned audition time to check in & take Theory Assessment.
  1. Bring a parent to the audition to meet the staff and complete registration paperwork.
  2. Tuition - $750
What to Expect at Your Audition: 


All Auditioning Singers will:
  1. Sing simple vocal warm-ups 
  2. Participate in listening and harmony exercises
  3. Sing 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat' in a round with a director
  4. Prepare and sing Star Spangled Banner (verse 1) unaccompanied. Memorization is not necessary.

Singers entering 7th-12 grade will also be asked to ...

  1. Sight read simple melodies
  2. Take a music theory assessment (allow 10-15 to complete)
